Walter ZANETTI was born in Trento and began playing the guitar at the
age of ten with C.LUTZEMBERGER. He received his diploma from the conservatory
in Bologna under the guidance of A.BORGHESE and De ROSE, finishing with
the highest possible marks. In 1984 he joined Alberto PONCE's class at
the "Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris", and received the "Diplome Supérieur
de Concertiste",the highest award of this school, in 1986. He has won
several of the most important international contests: "Ville de Carpentras"
1985, Bartoli award at Salon-de-Provence in 1987,"Pujol" contest in Sassari
in 1988 and third prize and public award in Namur , Belgium, in 1988.
He has toured Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Poland, performing in
the most prestigious European Venues,among which the conservatory in Madrid,
Salle Cortot in Paris, the Musikhalle in Amburgo.... He has recorded for
some of the most important European broudcasting companies,among which
Rai, National Radio of Spain, Belgian Radiotelevision and the polish television.
He has performed as a solist with the Haydn orchestra of Bolzano, the
Byzantine Accademy th K.Szymanowsky orchestra of Katovia and the Belgian
National Orchestra with which he has recently recorded a cd of the Aranjuez
concert by Rodrigo. He teaches at the C. Monteverdi conservatory in Bolzano.
