Since its inception in1962, Opera Nova has “democratized access to all of its events, Everyone goes to Opera--- not just a certain class, not just intellectuals, not just music addicts, but everybody.
Opera NOVA has made “Universal Access to Classical Performing Arts” its mission and resolved to make all of its diverse audience equal and inclusive.
Annual Children's Opera
It was in 1973, when Ms Catherine Feline Shouse (Wolf Trap fame) caused the performance of the first annual opera for classes come from public, private, religious and home schools.
Since then we have championed a unique practice of introducing young school children to a theater production of an opera designed for them.
