Opera NOVA invites young people from age 12 to 18 to try out for its

Summer Institute

to be held in Arlington July 22-28

 

The week includes intensive opera training and education in

acting, diction, ear training/theory, music history, voice

lessons and movement. It will be followed by a performance

on July 28 at 1 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Arlington.

The institute is supported by a grant from the Mars Foundation.

 

Top-notch faculty will run the institute at the Woman's Club, 700 S. Buchanan St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Cost is $250, with financial aid available. Instructors include opera veterans Jose Sacin, Alex Alburqueque, Eduardo Castro and Cara Gonzalez

Opera NOVA is an Arlington-based nonprofit that produces an opera for 3,000 school children every year and concerts for underserved communities and those who have little exposure to opera in northern Virginia.       

Opera NOVA has been recognized as exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code since 1994 and is currently registered with Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) and System for Award Management (SAM).
